You’ll never hear “I’m bored” when your family joins Summer Fun in the City with NJPAC. There’s poetry, jazz, dance, storytelling, movies and more throughout July and August. Together with our partners — the City of Newark, Forest Hill Community Association, Newark City Parks Foundation, Inc., Newark First Fridays and United Way — we’ll make your summer evenings memorable. Getting outside has never been so much fun!

Get your fun on this summer with free weekly dance classes in the park! We give you three-for- the-price-of-none with three different movement classes in each weekly session. The offerings include capoeira, Haitian, Jersey Club, samba and more! No experience necessary. The upbeat music and catchy steps will make your Tuesdays evenings a blast!

Celebrate Newark Brazil Day in a Downtown Park! NJPAC and Newark First Fridays showcase the vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture with upbeat music, dance, food and energetic performances. Discover the joys of Brazilian culture and learn about the connections between African Americans and Afro-Brazilian people. This program is in partnership with Newark First Fridays.
