Julio Jean is an accomplished dancer and choreographer who has taught at universities across the country and has led workshops around the globe. He has performed at Alvin Ailey’s National Dance Week, SummerStage in Central Park and the Brooklyn Museum. Currently, Jean teaches at Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance in New York and at Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts in Montclair. Also a songwriter and composer, Jean’s album Kenbe la encompasses the panorama of traditional Haitian music.
Adrienne Armstrong is a Newark native who began her performing arts career at Garden State Ballet in Newark. She continued her professional training through scholarship programs at Dance Theater of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet School and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Under the tutelage of Alvin Ailey she performed in Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Ailey II and Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble. She continues her artistic endeavors as a certified dance instructor for Newark Public Schools. Armstrong is also an instructor at Sharron Miller’s Academy of Performing Arts (SMAPA) in Montclair and is the rehearsal director and choreographer for her Performance Workshop Ensemble (PWE).
